Enjoy many miles of traffic-free streets! This event is organised by the London Cycling Campaign. Last year, Freewheel closed 10 miles of central London to motor vehicles, encouraging 50,000 people to enjoy the traffic-free streets.
The event sees Olympic medallists, families and friends all riding together to celebrate cycling. LCC staff, volunteers and community groups all get in on the act too.
David Love, vice chair of LCC and architect of the first Freewheel said, “Freewheel clearly demonstrates that when the mayor makes the streets truly cycle-friendly for families, they cycle in their tens of thousands."
