This years meeting will include sessions and presentations on:
1. The 2009 Heatwave - temperatures and impacts. 2. Uses of epidemiological evidence for heat-health warning systems. 3. Looking to the future. Short, medium and long term forecasts from the Met Office and an overview of the UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP).
We then plan workshops to discuss how the Met Office forecasts and UKCIP will impact Local Authorities, the Health Sector and other government departments.
The target audience for the event includes Local Authorities, PCTs and representatives from other government departments. Other key individuals and organisations will include the HPA, NHS, Met Office, Office of National Statistics, and Care Quality Commission.
